How to Install FAFCO's Header Anchor on composition shingle roof (refer to page 42 for tile roofs):

  • Snap a chalk line at the top header location.

  1. 1. Mark the Top Header Location
      1.      • Snap a chalk line at the top header location.
  1. 2. Locate Rafters and Pre-drill Pilot Holes
      1.      • Find rafters, if possible, and pre-drill pilot holes (Use two          header anchors for each panel, only on the top headers.)
  1. 3. Apply Roof Sealant
      1.      • Prevent roof leaks by applying sealant on the pilot holes.
  1. 4. Align the Base of the Header Anchor
      1.      • Use alignment indicators on the base to line up the lag screw hole with the pilot hole on the roof.
  1. 5. Drill in a 5/16th Lag Bolt
      1.      • Use the appropriate length of lag bolt for your specific job.
  1. 6. Secure the Header and Anchor Top
    1.      • Place the header into the base.
    2.      • Position the anchor top onto the base.
    3.      • Use the provided bolt to secure the anchor top to the base.
    4.      • Repeat this process for each panel.
